    Maximum of five (5) Bass per boat on Day 1 added to maximum of five (5) Bass per boat on Day 2
    1 Point per fish plus 1 Point per kilogram or part thereof = Heaviest Bag to win main prize

Rules

RULES – 1ST & 2ND MAY

Rules
  1. No angling will be permitted on Groenvlei from midnight 26th April 2009
  2. Only electric trolling motors will be permitted.
  3. Outboard motor underwater gear must be out of the water at all times do not wrap plastic bags around the propeller, they tend to break away and pollute the Vlei.
  4. Angling will be from boats only.  No shore angling will be permitted.
  5. Non-competitors will not be permitted on the boats during angling sessions. Only 2 anglers per boat will be permitted.
  6. All competitors must be in possession of a valid Angling License and a Nature Conservation Boat Permit, these will be available at registration
  7. Drunkenness and anti-social behavior will result in disqualification.
  8. No stringers will be permitted.
  9. The organizers have the right to cancel the event, or part thereof, should poor or unsafe weather conditions prevail.
  10. All boats must be equipped with an oar and lifejacket per Angler.
  11. All competitors to attend the 06:45hr briefing on the morning of the competition, within buoyed off start area .
  12. Start and close of the competition will only take place from the Caravan Park side of the lake and not from the public jetty on the National Road.
  13. Live-well inspection and boat tags collection will take place between 06:00hr and 07:00hr from within the Weigh-in area  of the lake, at caravan park boat jetty.  All anglers must ensure that they have a live-well inspection sticker for the day’s fishing.
  14. Angling will only commence on starters orders.
  15. No fish will be weighed if anglers do not adhere to the procedures set out at the briefing.
  16. No vehicles or trailers to be left at the beach or the public jetty.
  17. Only artificial lures may be used.
  18. No fishing into, or in, the marked-off buoyed area.
  19. Bass under 300 mm will not qualify for the weigh-in.
  20. Only bass caught during the official angling times will be weighed.
  21. No boat may approach within casting distance of another competitor’s boat.
  22. A team may not have more than 5 bass in their livewell at any time. Random inspection of livewells will be done
  23. All fish must be brought to the scales in a plastic bag.  Please ensure that all bags are filled with sufficient water.
  24. Competitors may not be assisted in hooking and / or fighting a fish and must be in control of his / her own rod and reel at all times.  Boat partners may assist with a landing net.
  25. Only 1 rod per angler will be permitted at any time.  As many spare rods as desired may be carried on the boat.
  26. A team will not be permitted to fish off 2 separate boats.
  27. Weigh-station will be open on Friday between 12:00hr and 13:00hr at the public jetty on the National Road side.
  28. Except for Officials, no two competing boats may come together during competition times.
  29. No Trolling under power allowed whatsoever.
  30. Five (5) bass per team per day may be weighed for the Main Team Prize.  Only live fish will qualify, weigh-master’s decision is final.
  31. Objections : All objections to be submitted in writing together with a R50.00 deposit, within one hour of tag board closure, to either Chalky Whyte or Dean Searle.
  32. No fish are allowed to be transported by road to the weigh station.
  33. All teams must be within the buoyed off area by 16:00hr on Friday. and 14:00hr on Saturday, failing which the team will be disqualified. All tags must be handed in at weigh station prior to fish being weighed.
  34. It is the responsibility of each competitor to familiarize him / herself with the procedures to be followed at the weigh-station.
  35. All bass will become the property of the organizing committee after being weighed.
  36. The winner of a Lucky Draw Prize must be present in order to claim his / her prize.
  37. Outeniqua Bass Masters and Lake Pleasant Holiday Resort will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury during or after the Garden Route Bass Classic.
  38. ALL DECISIONS OF THE COMMITTEE ARE FINAL.
